PAIN

Pain is a result of the activation of nerves. Our bodies were designed to work in a certain way. When work habits, old injuries, poor diet, stress or other negative influences disrupt our normal body function, pain results.

HOW WE TREAT PAIN:

A focused exam is done of the primary area of complaint. After that, a general strength and function evaluation is done of the rest of the body to determine if there are any problems there that feed back into and aggravate the primary site- its all connected. Brief non-invasive test treatments are then done to see if there can be an immediate response. If there is a positive reaction the treatment is expanded to attempt resolution of the problem. By observing the response, it is possible to predict how easy or difficult it would be to relieve. Some problems can be fixed amazingly quickly, some are caused by degenerative conditions that will not completely resolve, but can be significantly improved by periodic care. Treatment may be via manipulative techniques, acupressure, kinesiological treatments, stretching, exercises, neuromuscular therapy, all of which are utilized at the clinic. Some pain problems may have a nutritional or emotional component, that’s why an integrated approach can often bring improvement more quickly than expected. We do all that here at Kennesaw Mountain Clinic. The goal is always to bring the most relief with the least amount of visits. If the problem is of a nature that does not respond quickly to care, than a referral to another type of practitioner is available- whatever is in the best interest of the patient.
